| Introduction |
| Daman is one of the finest places for the view of grandeur
of Himalayan Range. It is situated 80 km southwest of the
Kathmandu valley, at an altitude of 2322 km (above sea level)
and rests between the northern slope of the Mahabharat range
between Kathmandu and Hetauda. It is on the Tribhuwan Highway,
which was the only link to India until the new Highway via
Mugling was built. From Daman we can see the panoramic view
of Himalaya, stretching 400 km, from Dhaulagiri in the west
to the Everest in the east. You can have the majestic view
of 8 of the 10 highest peaks of the world. They are Mt. Everest
(8848 m), Kanchanjunga (8586m), Lhotse (8516m), Yalung Kang
(8505m), Maklu (8463m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manslu (8163m)
and Chooyu (8201m). Besides, we can also see Annapurna III,
Phurbi Chyachu, Choba Bhamre, Gaurisankar, Ganesh etc. Daman
is also a famous place for view of Sunrise and Sunset. |
