| Introduction |
| Lumbini, the place where Lord Buddha was born in 623 B.C.
as the Shakya Prince, is situated in the Terai plains of southern
Nepal at Kapilvastu district. It is among the World Heritage
Sites of Nepal. It is religiously important site for both
Buddhist and Hindus as well. Large numbers of devotees gather
here during Buddha Jayanti (the birth day of Lord Buddha). |
